War (Fallen Book 2) Page 2

If a human died, the demon or angel bonded to them went back to either Hell or the limbo the angels were stuck it. From what Desiree had heard about that limbo, it sounded worse than Hell. You were aware of your surroundings as you floated in this blackness and saw others come and go, hoping you would be the one to bond next, praying that God would pick you.

Desiree had to believe that Hell was better than that. Sure, they were fighting to get here too, to leave Lucifer’s side and be here. Desiree wondered what would happen if Satan ever bonded to a human.

It was such a scary thought it sent a chill down her spine. Desiree just couldn’t comprehend the horror of it all. It was bad enough with Lilith, who was the second most powerful entity in Hell. Only Satan was more formidable.

Ai was using her super speed and strength to move boulders around. Every time Desiree saw her do that, she was reminded of the old comic books and the powers they had. Ai was like Captain America or even Superman though much better looking. Ai was a badass chick, and Desiree loved her.

“This is fun,” Ziva said, “but we need to pick up the pace. We only have until tomorrow.”

  Desiree groaned. “I know.”

They worked harder, faster. Most of the entry points had been closed off, and they were the only way in or out unless they could fly or jump super high. It wouldn’t surprise Desiree if someone had that magical ability after seeing what Ai could do.

Ziva was powerful too. She could use water in amazing ways, as if she was ripped out of an old cartoon series with elemental magic. It amazed Desiree, but here, Ziva was just like her, not a lot of use. They helped as much as they could, but they were nothing compared to the people who had more physical magic.

Hours later, the city was barricaded, and everyone was ready for war.

Desiree headed back to her apartment to shower and sleep. She needed a good night’s sleep before the battle tomorrow. Ai and Ziva went to see if Vincent or Layla had any other use of them. They were like the energizer bunny. They kept on going.

Back at her place, Desiree saw Kaiden in the shower. He was watching off dirt and grime. That was one of the great things about him. Kaiden was out with the people, helping them. The Chosen One wasn’t going to lead from the rear. He wasn’t about to let everyone else do the work.

“Can I join you?” Desiree asked.

  Chapter Four

Kaiden hadn’t heard Desiree come in the apartment, let alone the bathroom. She was already stripping down before he could answer her. Kaiden was okay with that. There was no way he wasn’t going to take a shower with her.

It was a fantasy of his in the first place to share a shower with a woman he loved. He had masturbated to that more than once in the shower. No way was he passing that up.

Desiree walked over to him. Her dark-skinned body was amazing, beyond stunning. Her breast were just big enough, and her dark nipples were a stark contrast to the other girls. Kaiden was rock hard before she even reached him.

Desiree smiled. “I see you are happy.”

  Kaiden gulped. “I am.”

Desiree joined him in the scolding hot water that covered both of them. She leaned and kissed him as the water poured over them. It was short but deep kiss. Kaiden was lost in her. The demon-bonded woman was his love.

They took turns cleaning each other, letting their hands explore each other, with and without the soap. Her skin was soft and supple. Once they had each other clean, Desiree knelt down in the shower and took his throbbing, hard cock into her mouth. She gave him one of the most aggressive blow jobs he had ever had in his life. Desiree greedily sucked on his cock. , taking most of it into her and stroking what she couldn’t. Desiree got him right to the edge of coming before stopping.

  “Tease,” Kaiden groaned.

Desiree giggled. “I’ll get you off.”

She stood and turned around, letting him take her pussy into view. It was shaved. Amazing. Kaiden caressed her lips with his fingers, playing with her, letting her wait before he entered her, before he made love to her.

Letting her know what it was like to be taken to the edge and stopped.

Kaiden then entered her. She was moaning in pure bliss as his penis pleasured her vagina. Her walls clenched as he thrust. Making love to her was one of the great joys in his life. So was making love to all three of them. Kaiden loved them in every way. It wasn’t just about their bodies. While they were incredible, it was about their passion, drive, power, desires, mind, soul.

It didn’t take long before Kaiden climaxed in her, and she screamed out, “Kaiden!”

They had both orgasmed at the same time.

Kaiden woke up the next morning. It was going to be a big day, one that could change the fate of the world. If they lost today, Lilith would roll over them. They wouldn’t stand a chance.

But that wasn’t going to happen. Kaiden wouldn’t allow it. He was going to make sure of it, even if he had to kill a thousand people himself. That was a disgusting thought, but he would if he had to.

Kaiden had slept in the bed with all three of his soulmates. It was a tight fit, and he had to control his desires. It was hard to be so close to them and not make love. Not touch them all night. Not to feel their bodies. Or to just stay up late talking. He loved that just as much. He loved hearing them tell stories of their time in Kathill. It made him think of his own time and his old friend, Lincoln. Kaiden didn’t know what was happening with him but hoped he was still there. There, he would be safe from all of this.

After trying his best to get out of the overstuffed bed and not wake them, Kaiden went to his clothes. An old jacket that hung to his feet was leather and sturdy. Kaiden knew that it really didn’t provide him much protection in the fighting, but he still wanted it. The others had their weapons here.

Kaiden had a sword. He wasn’t as powerful or skilled with the weapon as Ai or Ziva. Both of them could take on anyone with a blade and win.

Not that Kaiden was bad with one. He had taken on Pauline with a blade and had even covered it with fire. That had been pretty epic if he had any say in the matter, and he did. He was the Chosen One.

Once he was dressed, Ai started to wake.

“I’m tired,” Ai said. Her voice was weak and gravely. That pained Kaiden. He loved her normal flowery voice, the one he heard when he made love to her the first time. She had been his first. Kaiden would never forget that night in the tent with her. The way she had felt had been beyond amazing.

  “Good morning,” Kaiden said.

Ai smiled at him and got out of bed. She strode over to him and kissed him. “Kaiden, my love. My sweetheart.”

  “Ai, my darling.”

She tilted her head. “Today, we show them you are the Chosen One.”

  “Again,” Kaiden added.

  Ai winced. “Yes. Again.”

Kaiden hated that he kept having to prove over and over that he was the one, that he would stop this. In the stories of old, people would just accept him. He fulfilled the prophecy. End of story. He was the guy, the one.

The other two woke and were just so groggy with shaky voice. It was going to be a long day.

Kaiden was tempted to ask them not to fight at the front, but they would be furious with him. It wasn’t like he didn’t know they could fight. He’s seen them all handle themselves. Each of them was skilled and powerful.

  “We got this,” Ziva said.

He sure hoped she was right.

  Chapter Five

A short time later, Kaiden was in the command center with Sargal, his human Jeremiah, Vincent, Layla, Zaphkiel, Muriel, Dazielle, Ziva, Ai, and Desiree. Orlas was late. The demon kept her own clock and didn’t care what others said. That really wasn’t a shock, but it still annoyed Kaiden.

“They are an hour away,” Zaphkiel said.

“Okay.” Kaiden swallowed hard. It wouldn’t be long. He looked to his generals, Vincent and Layla. “Are we ready?”

“We are,” Layla said. “As best as we can be. With
Jeremiah’s people, we can win.”

Jeremiah nodded. “Yes. We have the city filled. Many of my people are used to fighting both angels and demons.”

That really shouldn’t surprise Kaiden, but it did. “Demons? Really?”

Jeremiah nodded. “Yes. We fight each other a lot to gain the favor of Lilith.”

Desiree nodded. “That is how Pauline got Houndpoint.”

“Yup,” Jeremiah said. “She had a smaller city but won here.”

“Okay.” Kaiden should have expected that. There was so much hidden from those in the safe zone. It was frustrating.

“The people are going to their positions,” Vincent said.

Kaiden nodded. “Very well. Let us all go and start this fight.”

The place was in a somber mood as they filed out and went to their assigned places. Kaiden was going to be at the front where the bulk of the people were expected to arrive. So were Ziva, Ai, and Desiree and their bonds.

While walking to the eastern edge, the side the force was coming from, Kaiden had trouble focusing. He kept thinking about how much it would pain him if any of his lovers were hurt. If they didn’t make it out of this fight, it would kill him. Kaiden would go to the ends of the earth to avenge them. He would make Lilith pay for what she had done. For a while, she might not be here, but it would be her fault. All of this was her fault.

It didn’t take long before Kaiden arrived and worked his way to the front of his force. They filled the alleys and were ready to strike when the enemy would march in. The alleyways had people, and the rooftops did as well, those who could shoot bows or had magic and could shoot balls of fire.

Kaiden stood at the end of the road they wanted the people to march down. He was to be the prize that drew them in. Then, the trap would be sprung, and they would slaughter their foes, or so that was what Vincent and Layla said would happen.

The sound of a massive force sounded, almost as if from old times, beating a drum to announce their arrival. A man appeared at the street with a large army behind him.

Kaiden turned to Zaphkiel, who stood beside him. “Can you make that voice project thing?”

The fallen angel obliged, and a funnel of air appeared in front of Kaiden.

“I am Kaiden Hill. I’ve bonded the fallen angel Zaphkiel.”

The force had entered the street and stopped. The man at the end of the street remained motionless. It would never be easy.

“I am the Chosen One. The Prophecy was given, and I have drunk from the Holy Grail. Follow me, and be saved. Help me defeat Lilith. Aid me in taking Earth back to what it had been.”

The force had to hear him, yet there was no response. That annoyed Kaiden to now end. It would be nice if, for once, the fight didn’t have to happen, but it was clear that these people wanted a fight.

“We reject you,” the leader finally said.

Then, the army started down the street, making their way to Kaiden and his people. Their foes would think they had Kaiden’s force outnumbered and could make quick work of them. Kaiden hoped they didn’t spot the people in the alleys or the rooftops. If they did, the plan was ruined. That was a scary thought, and Kaiden pushed it back.

This was happening. A fight. Another battle. Kaiden had never been in a real battle until recently. Now, he felt like he was always in one. This was going to give him a ton of experience points. When he survived this fight, Kaiden was without a doubt going to level up. There was a good chance that he would get even more XP than he received after the dragon or from killing Pauline.

This was going to be amazing, at least in regard to the XP. The death and injuries were going to weigh on Kaiden for a long time. They would bring Kaiden crashed back to earth, back to reality. In the meantime, he was going to do his best to survive and move forward.

  “Steady,” Kaiden said.

The tension was thick. Everyone was anticipating when the first blow would be delivered. All around him, Kaiden could feel the eagerness to fight. Zaphkiel gritted his teeth. Ai grunted next to him with her magic flowing in her. She was the strongest person he knew.

The force marched slowly down the road. They had a mile to cross. Vincent was sure that would be enough. Then, most of the force would be in the city, and they would be bottlenecked up. When the trap was sprung, they would have no place to go.

Kaiden prayed Vincent was right, and this would work. This had to go smoothly. Kaiden needed something in the war to go fast and as expected.

After an eternity, the force was close enough to strike to attack, and from the looks of it, the full unit of people was in the city. They would be completely surrounded.

  So far, Vincent was right.

Kaiden breathed in and gave the signal to attack.

  Chapter Six

Ziva gulped as the fight started. She was born for this and wasn’t going to pass it up. Nothing in her life made her feel more alive. No, that wasn’t the truth, and she knew it. Kaiden, Ai, and Desiree did. Being with them, just talking with them, and making love to them did. But outside of her lovers, this was what made her most alive. Ziva loved to fight, and she was good at it.

The trap sprung perfectly. The people on the roofs started to fire, and the group behind stopped them from fleeing. It was glorious and amazing. The screams from the people in the group dying was painful, but they were at war, and that was going to happen. Ziva, much like Kaiden, didn’t want the people to die, but they had to. They were fighting for a vile, cruel demon.

Ziva had been surprised to learn that not all demons were like that. Many had joined them. Desiree’s Orlas wasn’t the only one. They wanted to help because they too feared Lilith and what she was doing. While they wanted to be here on Earth, they didn’t want to control it. They didn’t want to live in fear of Lilith and of the angels. They wanted to be here and live their lives.

Ziva could respect that. It made her a bit weirded out, but she could handle it.

The ambush was working too smoothly. Ziva looked around for the demons. They were nowhere in sight, and that was a huge concern.

Suddenly, the people on their side were the ones screaming. The demons appeared on the roofs and began to throw the humans off.

Thankfully, the angels leaped into action and started to catch the people.

Kaiden next to Ziva cringed. He didn’t appear happy.

The rooftop attacks were done. The force was still large, but they stood a chance. In the distance, at the other choke points they had created, Ziva could hear the battle raging, the fight breaking out, the sound of metal clanging against metal. Thankfully, there were no guns, just swords, bows, and clubs. That was a good thing. If they had all the high tech weapons of the past, they would be in serious trouble, and Ziva didn’t want that.

She knew that Lilith did have guns, and they would have to deal with that when that moment arrived. Until then, it was old school, and that was what Ziva excelled at.

  “Charge!” Kaiden yelled.

It was Ziva’s time to shine, her moment to show Kaiden what she was made of. Not that he didn’t already know. She had seen the look in his eyes when she would practice, when both she would spar Ai. He was in awe and lust.

The force of angels and demons sprinted to their foe. Their opponent was still lost in chaos. Ziva hoped they would be able to make quick work of them. If not, she hoped they would run hiding, submit to the Chosen One, or rather accept Kaiden and follow him.

Ziva’s blades were out, and she slashed her way into the group of people. The sounds of battle filled the air. The world around her was a blur of bodies and blood, of screams and metal.

Ziva focused herself and those around her. She wielded two short, sharp blades and had a pouch of water as well. That was inspired by an old cartoon.

For now, Ziva focused on her blades. Spinning on the spot, she sliced the arm of a man. He screamed out and dropped to the ground. Then, Ziva turned to her right and watched as Ai used her speed and strength to defeat several people. It was one
of the most impressive sights Ziva had ever seen.

Kaidan was in the mix as well. His blade was covered in fire, and he was using both the flames and the sword to slay his foes. He was battling the leader of the group, and they were going toe to toe.

Kaiden might have the least amount of training in the group, but he had the heart of a warrior. He was indeed a man with a cause. Ziva loved that. She needed that. It was his drive that kept her going, made her work for a future with him. A place with no demons and no angels.

Muriel landed next to Ziva and killed a man who was sneaking up on her.

  “Thank you,” Ziva said.

Muriel nodded. “Come. Let us show these puny humans what we are made of.”

  Ziva giggled. “Let’s.”

With her angel at her side, Ziva tore through the group, taking out just as many as Ai did and more than Desiree.

The fight lasted longer than she wanted, but she enjoyed the battle.

Ai was in the thick of the skirmish. Her magic gave her a huge advantage over most of the people. She moved with a speed that most couldn’t even keep up with. Ai used her weapon and her own hands to kill, slicing necks and breaking them. It was tedious work, but she managed to thin the herd. This was a group of wild animals and nothing more. They refused to see the future. They were a lost cause, and Ai was going to put them out of their misery, but she didn’t dare say that to her loves. None of them would accept that. It wasn’t that Ai didn’t think people and demons couldn’t be saved. Some could, but not these ones.

She killed one hundred as she made her way to the back of the army. Ai had hope. The rear of the force was doing just as badly against theirs. That was a great sign. Even with the arrival of the demons, they were winning.
